One of my initial paintings, this was inspired by my two dogs who were with us for around 15 years each. They became family when our children were small, so in a sense the whole family grew together.
In all these years, we have all found them to provide tremendous emotional support when we were stressed or anxious and highly attentive to us and our emotional states. Due to their presence all over the house and their non-judgmental support, there was always a reduced stress level at home. When I got back home after a day’s work in the hospital, the two were always at the door to greet me and demand their day’s share of love and affection.
Their unconditional love, patience, powers of observation and plentiful energy never ceased to amaze us. A great stickler for routines, dogs help you adhere to a fitness regime that you always may not be very inclined to stick to.
A great companion, who are seemingly very attentive in whatever you say, dogs can help you curb loneliness that may sometimes set in. The companionship that they have to offer and the care that you need to partake, serves in bringing a structure to your day and works at reducing anxiety and the risk of depression.
